Dr. Calvin is a plain looking woman. Dr. Calvin is played by Bridget Moynahan who is very attractive.
The robots are created by US Robots and Mechanical Men, Inc. The company is US Robotics.
The book is a collection of short stories as told to a reporter by Susan Calvin. The movie has a single main plot about a renegade robot.
The zeroth law of robotics was not a part of I,Robot as it first appeared in a much later robot book called Robots and Empire. The central robot brain V.I.K.I. appears to be programmed in accordance with the zeroth law of robotics to protect humanity from themselves.
No robots in the book that lacked the 1st law. There was one story called "Little Lost Robot" in which robots were made with a weaker 1st law which did not require them to render aid to humans in danger. Robot Sammy is manufactured without a 1st law which says a robot cannot harm people or allow them to b harmed. Sammy obeys his creator's order to kill him which drives the movie's plot.
