The missile that turned into a whale cracks open an entrance into the Magrathean underground when it hits the ground, which Ford, Zaphod and Trillian go through, Zaphod telling Arthur and Marvin to stay behind and guard the entrance. |
The heroes land on Magrathea and find a transporter device, which Trillian, Ford and Zaphod go through. Arthur is reluctant to try, but when he does, he find that it has stopped working, and is forced to stay with Marvin.
