   When Bilbo put on the ring during his party Galdalf knew it was coming and created a blinding flash. This made the onlookers believe Gandalf had made Bilbo disappear. Bilbo puts on the ring and disappears, shocking those in attendance.
   Frodo waits until seventeen years after Bilbo leaves the Shire to leave himself. It is a year or less.
   Saruman deduces that the Hobbit's have the ring. He is unable to find out any concrete details about the ring's location. Gandalf tells Saruman that the Hobbits have it.
   The Hobbit's meet and spend time with Tom Bombadil and Goldberry. This doesn't happen.
   Strider has the shards of the sword Narsil at Bree. He has a fully intact sword.
