Louis Opparizio is not seen until he is called to testify at trial. He is a major character in the novel concerning Mickey's attempt at finding another person who is responsible for the murder of Bondurant. Alex Grant wants his hearing to squash the subpena to the trial to be held in private. Mickey shows him an email from Bondurant threatening Grant with exposure of his shady business dealings.
Maggie does not plan on moving to San Diego. Maggie is offered a good job in the DA's office in San Diego. She tells Mickey after they spend the night together. She tells him that she loves him, but it will never work. She is already selling her house.
Jennifer Aronson is 2nd chair at trial with Mickey. Mickey's driver only drives. Lorna is only an office assistant. Lorna hires four temps from law school to run the office while she is in court with Mickey at the defense table. Izzy also helps out in the office.
The murder weapon (a hammer) was found a few weeks after the murder but prior to the trial. It is the same kind of hammer that is missing from Trammel's tool set in her garage. It is circumstantial evidence. They know that a hammer matching the wounds of the murder victim was missing from Trammel's garage. The hammer is found after the trial starts and introduced as evidence. It has a serial number and belongs to Trammel.
This is not in the novel. Izzy has been trying to build a dance studio, but is having trouble with the rent and deposit.
