   The farmer who found the bomb does not appear again in the story after the bomb is removed from his fields. The scrap collector who found the bomb is interrogated by Ryan. He has radiation poisoning.
   The National Security Advisor is Elizabeth Elliot. The National Security Advisor is Gene Revell.
   Ryan bugs a meeting between the leaders of Mexico and Japan after hearing Japan does not plan to honor the terms of a US-Japan trade agreement. This is to foreshadow events in the next novel, Debt of Honor. Neither Japan nor Mexico play a part in the novel. As of December 2015 there is no Debt of Honor film.
   Ryan resigns from the CIA at the end of the novel. Ryan does not resign from the CIA at the end of the film.
   Ryan witnesses the execution of the Arab terrorists in Riyadh and is presented a sword by the King of Saudi Arabia. This does not happen.
