This Spoils the Ending
In the Book In the TV Show
The book starts with Mickey being very busy defending people whose homes are being foreclosed upon. Season 2 starts with Mickey getting beat up in a garage by two men. It then shifts to three months earlier as Mickey is enjoying the fame that came with his last case.
Mickey is working out of his Lincoln SUV as usual, he is no longer in Jerry Vincent's office. He later rents office space. Mickey is still working out of Jerry Vincent's office since the activities of Season 1.
This does not happen in the book. Louis Ross Roulet is the murderer of Martha Renteria, not Russell Lawson. There is a subplot concerning the conviction reversal and retrial of Jesus Menendez. A man named Russell Lawson is revealed to be the murderer of Martha Renteria. Mickey uses Glory Days to set up Lawson and he is arrested for the Renteria murder.
This subplot is not in the book. Cisco meets with an old biker gang member (Kaz) after getting out of prison. He vouches for him with the Road Saints biker club. But Kaz is a ATF informant. Cisco later helps the Road Saints traffic stolen guns and supplies Kaz with forged ID and passport to disappear.
Lisa Trammel is a client of Mickey's. She is a divorced single mom whose home has been foreclosed on. Mickey does not like her as she is a “nuisance client”. Mickey meets Lisa Trammel, a chef/owner of a restaurant while at lunch with Maggie. Maggie leaves early; Mickey and the chef spend the night together. Mickey later offers to help with the restraining order against her issued by Bondurant. Mickey continues to have feelings for Lisa throughout the show.
